Legalvote.com will not disclose any personally identifiable information about you to anyone. When you vote on a case, you will be asked to provide the following demographic information: e-mail address, state, zip code, gender, race/national origin, education, occupation and age group. This information will be stored so that you need not fill out the questionnaire again - unless you wish to update or change your profile.
The information that you provide regarding your state, zip code, gender, race/national origin, education, occupation, and age group will only be used to compile aggregated result statistics for attorneys or legal professionals (for example, the opinions expressed in a case by 36-45 year-old women residing in New York). Individual e-mail addresses or personally identifiable information will never be transmitted or given to these attorneys or legal professionals - and such information cannot be accessed by the public. Moreover, we will never sell this information or give it to others for marketing or other purposes.
We may use your e-mail address to notify you about the results of cases in which you voted, or to give you information about cases or studies that may be of interest to you.
Legalvote.com will not disclose your personally identifiable information without your permission unless we need to do so in order to comply with applicable law, a subpoena, or other legal process or to protect the safety of other voters or the public.
Voters should note that when you are on the Legalvote.com website, you may be directed to other websites that are beyond our control. For example, if you click on a banner advertisement, the click may take you off the Legalvote.com website. How cookies are used by Legalvote.com
Cookies are blocks of text placed in a file on a voter's hard drive by Legalvote.com. We do not allow users under the age of 13 to participate in cases, in compliance with the Children's Privacy Protection Act. We will therefore not maintain any information from users who we learn are under the age of 13.
